Taoyuan launches Da Longmen low‑carbon tourism corridor
Taoyuan City Mayor Zhang Shan‑cheng chaired a council meeting to approve the Da Longmen tourism corridor project. The plan links the Daxi and Longtan districts with the Shimen Reservoir area, integrating riverbank ecology, historic villages, and multicultural heritage.
The city will combine water‑side parks, bike paths, and walking trails to create a 65‑kilometre, 56‑route network branded as a low‑carbon, slow‑travel experience for domestic and international visitors. Key features include the Moon‑ey artificial wetland, the Rui‑xing wetland, and the addition of over 300 weeping willows that attract tourists each autumn. The corridor aims to boost local tourism, support surrounding industries, and promote sustainable development across the region.
