Taoyuan man detained for fatal assault on elderly wife

An 87-year-old man in Taoyuan has been detained following the death of his wife. Authorities report that the man allegedly struck the woman's head with blunt objects, including an iron rod and a metal ruler, due to dissatisfaction with her constant nagging.

The victim was found by her daughter-in-law with severe head injuries and was later pronounced dead. Following an investigation and forensic examination, prosecutors have applied for and received a detention warrant for the man on suspicion of murder.
