Taoyuan Mayor Poll: Chang Shan-cheng Leads Huang Shih-chieh

A recent poll by ETtoday Poll Cloud indicates that incumbent Taoyuan Mayor Chang Shan-cheng holds a significant lead over Democratic Progressive Party candidate Huang Shih-chieh in the upcoming mayoral election. Chang received 47.4 percent support, while Huang received 36.0 percent, representing an 11.4 percentage point gap.

Regarding the likelihood of victory, 56.8 percent of respondents believe Chang will be re-elected, compared to 30.9 percent for Huang. The poll also shows a high level of voter engagement, with 93.5 percent of citizens expressing an intention to vote.

In terms of administrative performance, 53.4 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction with Chang’s current governance, while 33.4 percent expressed dissatisfaction. The survey was conducted between October 29 and November 1, 2026, with a sample size of 1,190 valid responses and a margin of error of plus or minus 2.84 percent.
