Taoyuan police retrieve lost watch and phone for visitors and residents

A Vietnamese tourist named Ruan lost his watch after taking bus 5040 from Taipei Main Station to DaYuan. After realizing the watch was missing, he went to the DaYuan police station, where Officer Zhuang Hongzhou took his statement, contacted the bus company and confirmed the driver had found and secured the watch. The police arranged its return, and the tourist thanked the officers for their prompt assistance.

In a separate incident, an elderly woman (over 80) picked up a lost smartphone that had fallen from a motorcyclist’s bag on a roadway in Taoyuan. Unaware of legal requirements, she kept the phone at home. Deputy Chief Huang Junkai of the DaShu police precinct traced her, visited her residence, explained the law on handling lost property, and facilitated the phone’s return to its owner. Police officials reminded the public to hand over found items to authorities to avoid legal complications.
