Taoyuan temple groups host charity baseball game for disadvantaged youth

The Taoyuan City Temple Groups Charity Foundation organized the ‘Gods Protect Taoyuan, Supporting the Baseball Soul’ charity baseball game at the Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium. The event involved 28 member temples and was attended by 80 disadvantaged children and 40 families of impoverished veterans and their descendants.

Taoyuan Mayor Chang Shan-cheng and Foundation Chairman Wang Jie-xi performed the ceremonial first pitch. Mayor Chang highlighted the significant role of local temples as a social support system, noting their ability to provide aid during disasters and their commitment to community welfare through religious and cultural activities.
