Argentina reports multiple cases of gender-based violence and arrests

Several cases of gender-based violence have been reported in Argentina, drawing significant public attention due to viral footage and judicial proceedings.

In Tapalqué, Rodrigo Daniel Carrica was arrested following the viralization of a video showing him physically assaulting his partner while simultaneously using her phone to block and delete her contacts. The victim, a 26-year-old woman, sustained facial and bodily injuries. The case is being handled by the UFI N° 1 of Azul, and human rights organizations have criticized the perceived judicial delays in the region.

In Beccar, San Isidro, Jorge Ezequiel Carrizo was detained after a violent attack on his 23-year-old ex-partner. Security footage captured the suspect hitting the victim with his fists and a helmet, and dragging her for several blocks. Carrizo reportedly had a prior restraining order against him that had not yet been formally served.

Additionally, in Perico, a trial has been ordered against Luis Alberto Ramón Sajama for attempted femicide and sexual abuse. The defendant remains in preventive detention for 120 days as the legal process advances.
