Tappara announces board changes and enters season as favorites
The Finnish ice hockey club Tappara is undergoing leadership and organizational changes. Tamhockey Oy, the parent company of Tappara, has announced new board members. Long-time board member Ronald Grönlund is stepping down after nearly 30 years of service. He is replaced by Mika Aroja and Ville Kopra, while Lasse Aho continues as chairman.
In operational leadership, Aki Hautamäki is transitioning from Development and Events Director to Business Director of Tammerch Finland Oy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tamhockey Oy focused on merchandise. Hautamäki will maintain responsibility for digital infrastructure and commercial strategy within the Tamhockey group.
On the competitive front, Tappara enters the new league season as a heavy favorite. Following the arrival of coach Kari Jalonen, experts and journalists suggest the team possesses a strong culture and winning roster. While some analysts note slight changes in the lineup, the consensus remains that the club is positioned for continued success under Jalonen’s leadership.
