TAQA Joins UAE In‑Country Value Programme and Issues Record $750 Million Blue Bond
Etisalat, Emirates Steel and TAQA signed an agreement with the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology to join the national In‑Country Value (ICV) programme. The initiative aims to boost local manufacturing, create jobs and help the country double the industrial sector’s contribution to GDP to Dh300 billion by 2031 as part of “Operation 300 billion.” Ministers Dr. Sultan Al Jaber and Sarah Al Amiri attended the signing. Since its launch in 2018, the ICV programme has created about 2,000 jobs and channeled Dh88 billion into the UAE’s industrial sector.
Separately, TAQA announced the successful issuance of a USD 750 million five‑year Blue Bond, the largest ever in the EMEA region and the first by a government‑related entity in the GCC. The bond, listed on the London Stock Exchange and rated Aa3/AA, will finance sustainable water and wastewater management projects across the utility’s value chain. The issuance brings TAQA’s cumulative green and blue bond portfolio to USD 2.6 billion and supports its broader $10 billion investment in energy‑transition projects under its 2030 Vision.
