Taquara municipal road works upgrade streets and drainage with 800K reais investment

The municipality of Taquara in Brazil is carrying out a series of road and drainage improvement projects. The works, funded with roughly R$ 419,900 from municipal resources and an additional R$ 392,000 granted through a federal parliamentary amendment, include pothole repairs, leveling of dirt roads, drainage system clearing, and the installation of interlocking concrete blocks on paved sections. One focus is the continuation of paving on the Pega Fogo road, extending from the Zeferino Vicente Neves Filho elementary school to a former cobblestone segment, covering about 2,100 m². In the urban area, the main access road to the Eldorado neighborhood, Rua Hélio Pereira da Silva, is also being paved over roughly 2,580 m². The mayor, Sirlei Silveira, said the projects are part of the administration’s plan to improve mobility and infrastructure in both urban and rural parts of the city, with expected completion within two months.
