TAR Calabria annuls Crotone health agency exam and orders Reggio Calabria vote recount
The Regional Administrative Court (TAR) of Calabria has issued two significant rulings affecting local administration and elections in the region.
In Crotone, the court annulled the written exam results for a public competition held by the Provincial Health Agency (ASP). The competition, intended to fill eight administrative professional positions, was found to have violated the 'lex specialis' (the specific rules of the competition). While the official call required the written exam to consist of drafting documents or answering synthetic questions, the commission instead administered multiple-choice quizzes, a format reserved only for the pre-selection phase. The judges noted that multiple-choice quizzes and synthetic questions are structurally distinct and cannot be substituted for one another.
In Reggio Calabria, the TAR has ordered a verification of votes in five electoral sections following a dispute over a municipal council seat. The contest involves a one-vote margin between candidates Vanessa Colica and Maria Nucera from the Lega party. Nucera challenged the results, which originally awarded 580 preferences to Colica and 579 to Nucera. The court's investigation will examine one section contested by Nucera and four sections identified by Colica, who also claims potential miscounting of her own preferences.
