Tara Armstrong recall campaign draws protesters in Coldstream
Protesters in Coldstream, British Columbia, have begun demonstrating to raise awareness for a campaign to recall Tara Armstrong, the MLA for Kelowna–Lake Country–Coldstream. While the formal petition has not yet gone live, residents organized a demonstration on August 14 to voice concerns regarding a perceived lack of representation.
Organizers, including resident Christine McNair, claim Armstrong has failed to deliver on campaign promises related to affordable housing and healthcare. Critics also point to her legislative record, noting she has introduced numerous bills unrelated to her riding, including a previously defeated proposal to abolish the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal and repeal the B.C. Human Rights Code.
Armstrong’s political career has been marked by shifts in affiliation. Originally elected as part of the B.C. Conservative caucus, she later co-founded the One B.C. Party with MLA Dallas Brodie before sitting as an independent following a party split in December 2025.
