Tara Westover announces second memoir ‘Brothers and Sisters’

Author Tara Westover has announced her second memoir, titled ‘Brothers and Sisters’, which is scheduled for release by Random House on April 13. The book serves as a follow-up to her 2018 bestseller ‘Educated’, which detailed her upbringing in a Mormon survivalist family in Idaho.

In this new work, Westover explores the aftermath of her previous memoir, specifically addressing how her parents and siblings have disputed her memories and denied events previously confirmed. The publisher describes the book as a story of how memories are held within a family and the experience of outliving the story that defined one's identity.

Westover, a National Humanities Medal recipient, holds a doctorate in intellectual history from Trinity College. Her debut memoir received significant acclaim, appearing on The New York Times bestseller list for over two years and receiving praise from figures such as Barack Obama and Bill Gates.
