Taraba APC Gains Support Ahead of 2027 Elections

Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Yola North, Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency, began a thank‑you tour of party secretariats across the local government areas. He met party executives, elders, youth leaders and grassroots supporters, praised the primary as free and fair, and pledged to attract development projects to the constituency as the 2027 general election approaches.

In a separate development, James Chimin, the former Assistant State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, resigned and accepted an appointment as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Agbu Kefas. Declaring his defection, Chimin said, “I have left the PDP and joined the APC to support the vision of Governor Agbu Kefas,” and pledged loyalty to the governor, President Bola Tinubu and APC candidates in upcoming elections.
