Taraji P. Henson to star in Netflix film inspired by true Chicago reunion

Netflix has announced the upcoming release of ‘Give Me Some Sugah’, a film starring Taraji P. Henson and directed by Tasha Smith. Scheduled to premiere on December 16, the movie is inspired by the real-life story of Chicago baker Lenore Lindsey.

In the true story, Lindsey discovered that a longtime customer at her South Shore bakery, Vamarr Hunter, was the son she had placed for adoption when she was 17 years old. The connection was made through genetic testing, revealing that they had been living in the same neighborhood and interacting for years without knowing their biological relationship. Following their reunion, Hunter assisted in running the bakery during a health crisis faced by Lindsey.

The film features a cast including Russell Hornsby, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Joey Bada$$.
