Tarancón Vía Verde project enters first tender phase

Three companies have been invited to participate in the tender for the first phase of the future Vía Verde in Tarancón. This follows a previous attempt to award the contract that was declared void. The project is part of the Plan XCuenca, which aims to integrate urban areas using the former conventional railway line.

Mayor José Manuel López Carrizo stated that the Diputación Provincial de Cuenca is managing the tender and expects an adjudicator to be announced by the end of the week. This initial phase involves removing level crossings in Tarancón and preparing the first stretch of the greenway to provide cycling tourism services. The goal is to have this section ready by May.

Additionally, the mayor noted progress on the future headquarters of the Antonio Pérez Foundation, which is expected to open in January 2027.
