Tarancón's 1960s Festival granted regional tourist interest status

The 'Fiesta de los Años 60' in Tarancón has officially been declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest. The designation was formalized following the publication of a resolution by the Directorate General of Tourism, Commerce, and Crafts in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha.

Originating in 1991 as a grassroots initiative by a group of friends, the themed celebration has evolved into a major community event. The festivities, often referred to as the 'Fiesta de los Yeyés,' feature a themed market, classic vehicle exhibitions, period-accurate parades, concerts, and traditional dances.

Regional authorities noted that this official distinction serves as a quality seal that will integrate the festival into Castilla-La Mancha’s tourism promotion circuits. This increased visibility is expected to boost the local economy by benefiting the hospitality, commerce, and service sectors in Tarancón.
