TaranTarsia festival returns to Tarsia to celebrate cultural identity

The 18th edition of the TaranTarsia festival is scheduled to take place in Tarsia, Calabria, from August 27 to August 29. Organized by the Associazione Culturale Musikart and co-financed by the Calabria Region, the event focuses on themes of cultural identity, linguistic heritage, and human rights.

The festival's opening days will highlight Calabria's linguistic minorities, including the Arbëresh, Grecanic, and Occitan communities. Programming includes documentary screenings, speeches from local mayors, and culinary experiences featuring traditional Mediterranean ingredients.

The second day is dedicated to human rights, promoting values of dignity, peace, and freedom. The event concludes on August 29 with the 'Notte del TaranTarsia,' an immersive night of global music and dance spread across the historic center's alleys and squares.
