Taranto Municipality regulates sports facility use and management
The Municipality of Taranto has issued a temporary authorization for S.S. Taranto Calcio to use the Erasmo Iacovone Stadium (Campo A) and the Francesco Di Molfetta facility. This measure regulates training sessions and matches scheduled through December 2026, following requests from the club to formalize facility access. The club is required to comply with regulations set by the public entertainment safety commission regarding capacity and usage. Specific fees have been established, including hourly rates for training and per-match fees for games with paid admission.
Broadly, the municipality is reviewing the management of several local sports facilities, including the Iacovone Stadium, PalaMazzola, PalaRicciardi, and the Stadio del Nuoto. While some structures are undergoing finalization by a commissioner, others are subject to management proposals. Taranto Calcio has submitted a project financing proposal for the Iacovone Stadium, while Legends Global has expressed interest in managing multiple city facilities, though a formal project financing proposal from them is still pending. Additionally, the Italian Athletics Federation (Fidal) has submitted an official proposal for the management of PalaRicciardi and the Giuseppe Valente athletics stadium.
