Taranto to host 20th Italian LCA Network Conference on sustainability
The 20th Conference of the Italian LCA Network will take place from September 23 to 25 at the University of Bari Aldo Moro’s Jonico Department in Taranto. The national event focuses on the ecological transition and the promotion of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method.
Approximately 150 scientists from across Italy will participate, presenting research on using LCA to enhance business competitiveness and measure sustainability within circular economy solutions. Discussions will cover the integration of LCA with new technologies and the harmonization of Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) datasets.
The conference will address environmental assessments across various sectors, including energy, construction, metallurgy, chemicals, paper, textiles, waste management, agri-food, mobility, and tourism. Methodological perspectives will also explore integrating LCA with economic (LCC), social (SLCA), and Life Cycle Sustainability Analysis (LCSA) tools. The event is supported by the Italian LCA Network, the University of Bari Aldo Moro, and the Italian Academy of Commodity Sciences (AISME).
