Taranto unions launch public assemblies for new social welfare plans

Labor unions Cgil, Cisl, and Uil Taranto have launched a series of twelve public assemblies across the six social zones of the Taranto province. The initiative aims to gather direct input from citizens, families, the elderly, people with disabilities, and caregivers regarding the development of new Social Zone Plans.

The program begins on Wednesday, September 23, in Massafra. Each meeting is structured into two sessions: one focusing on minors, disability, and educational poverty, and another addressing elderly care, home assistance, and support for family caregivers. The unions also intend to address issues of poverty, inequality, and protection networks for victims of violence.

To facilitate data collection, participants will be provided with questionnaires to report on service quality, waiting times, and unmet needs. Following the Massafra meeting, the tour will continue to Ginosa on September 29, Martina Franca on September 30, Taranto on October 1, Manduria on October 6, and Grottagli on October 8.
