Tarapacá authorities and Constructora Paz lead regional development initiatives
The Tarapacá Regional Government and the Iquique Fire Department have coordinated efforts to accelerate projects for renewing emergency equipment. Technical meetings were held to resolve administrative observations and establish deadlines for initiatives involving new fire trucks, rescue tools, and protective suits for volunteers in the region.
In a separate sustainability development, Constructora Paz, in partnership with APRO and ACHS, completed a circular economy pilot project at the Parque Arboleda site in Lo Curro. The initiative successfully recovered 145 kilograms of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, footwear, textiles, and helmets, preventing them from being sent to final disposal.
The recovered textiles were transformed into yarns for products like blankets and reusable bags, while footwear and plastic components were repurposed into raw materials for plastic wood and concrete additives. The project reported resource savings equivalent to 1,400 kWh of energy and 25,000 liters of water.
