Tarapacá electricity subsidy benefits over 23,000 households
In the Tarapacá Region of Chile, 23,352 households have been granted benefits through the fifth process of the electricity subsidy program. This initiative, corresponding to the second half of 2026, achieved a coverage rate of 95.8% within the region, representing a total investment exceeding 507 million pesos.
Nationally, this fifth distribution process reached a record 1,926,830 households. Regional authorities, including Presidential Delegate Adriana Tapia and Energy Seremi Juan Ignacio Boudon, stated that the subsidy is designed to provide direct economic relief to families and alleviate household budgets. The discounts will be applied to electricity bills according to the billing cycles of the respective distribution companies.
