Tarapacá Health Service strengthens child and adolescent mental health care

The Tarapacá Health Service conducted a training workshop focused on child and adolescent mental health, covering characterization, intersectoral work, and migration. The event brought together more than 70 professionals and technicians from various regional facilities to update their knowledge and improve coordination for providing comprehensive care.

San-Yun Anch, the intersectoral manager of the Tarapacá Health Service Mental Health Department, noted that the session included experts from the Gender Affirmative Unit of the Iquique Hospital, the Gender Identity Support Program, and the Primary Health Care Reinforcement Program. Participants included psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and psychiatrists. The initiative aims to strengthen and accredit teams across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of the mental health network to better address user needs in extreme geographic zones.
