Tarapacá hosts cultural events to promote regional integration

Cultural initiatives are being held in the Tarapacá region to promote integration through music and tradition. The 2nd Encuentro de Música Criolla, organized by the Seremi of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage of Tarapacá, features performances aimed at strengthening ties between Chile and Peru. The event includes a cultural presentation at the Consulate General of Peru in Iquique and a gala night at the Salón Municipal Tarapacá involving the Asociación de Músicos Criollos de Tacna and various regional musical groups.

In the Tamarugal area, the Escuela Oasis del Desierto de Pintados is incorporating cultural diversity into its Fiestas Patrias celebrations. The school integrates the traditions of Aymara, Quechua, and Puquina communities, alongside migrant families from neighboring countries like Bolivia. These activities include folk music, dance, and gastronomy, serving as part of the school's educational project to foster dialogue and respect for diverse cultural identities.
