The Taras Shevchenko Gymnasium in Chișinău has commenced the new academic year with modernized infrastructure following investments exceeding $100,000. These improvements aim to enhance learning conditions and provide a safer, more inclusive environment for students, including refugees from Ukraine.

A $91,000 project, funded by the Embassy of Japan through the Kusanone Program and supported by the National Congress of Ukrainians in Moldova, resulted in the full renovation of the school's sports hall. The upgrades included walls, lighting, heating systems, doors, and two changing rooms, along with new sports equipment.

Additionally, UNICEF, with financial support from the Norwegian Government, invested $10,000 to renovate and equip a classroom. This work included the installation of two interactive boards, the procurement of two laptops, and new furniture for students and staff. A new project by PIN Moldova, supported by JICA and the National Congress of Ukrainians in Moldova, has also been launched to improve access to inclusive and non-formal education for Ukrainian children in the country.
