Tarcol S.A. alcohol factory in Maipú faces third auction
A third auction has been called for the historic Tarcol S.A. alcohol factory located in Maipú, Mendoza, following its bankruptcy. The sale includes the industrial complex, two plots of land totaling approximately 3.4 hectares, and various industrial assets such as machinery, tanks, filters, and silos.
The auction, ordered by the National Court of First Instance in Commercial Matters No. 17, has set a starting base price of US$1,375,000. This follows previous unsuccessful auction attempts in 2024.
The facility's decline began in 2016 during a wage dispute that led to a lockout by owners. At that time, approximately 50 workers attempted to maintain operations and protect the site from theft by occupying the premises. However, the project failed to stabilize, and the company's bankruptcy was officially ratified by the courts in 2018.
