Tareq Rahman urges officials to use public funds for national interest

Prime Minister Tareq Rahman has instructed government officials to ensure that every penny of public money allocated for development projects is spent strictly in the interest of the country and the welfare of its people.

Speaking at a review meeting for the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday, October 11, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for honesty, sincerity, and accountability in public service. He noted that those in government positions are privileged compared to the general population and should view their roles as a unique opportunity to serve the nation.

During the meeting, officials briefed the Prime Minister on ongoing activities, development projects, and future targets. Rahman assured that the government would provide budget allocations to meet established targets but stressed that officials must remain vigilant regarding the proper utilization of these funds. He also encouraged officials to share field-level observations and experiences to assist in government decision-making.
