Targa Florio Classica features 200 crews in Sicily

The Targa Florio Classica 2026 has moved through the Madonie mountains with 200 international crews competing in the decisive phase of the Campionato Italiano Grandi Eventi and the Ferrari Tribute. The 300-kilometer course spans several locations, including Collesano, Polizzi Generosa, Castellana Sicula, Geraci Siculo, Castelbuono, Pollina, Cerda, Caltavuturo, and Termini Imerese.

In the competitive standings, Giovanni Moceri and Marco Campilongo are defending a lead established in the first stage with their Lancia Ardea. However, Gianmario Fontanella and Giovanni Scarabelli, driving a Fiat 514 M Sport, have moved into contention. Meanwhile, the Fiat 508C driven by Francesco and Giuseppe Di Pietra faced difficulties on the climbs toward Polizzi Generosa, impacting their position.

The Ferrari Tribute segment features a contest between Celestino and Oreste Sangiovanni in a Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider and Gianantonio and Marco Gasparini in a Ferrari 296 GTS. Local municipalities have supported the event with traditional offerings, such as manna in Pollina and local pastries in Collesano and Calcarelli. The competition is set to conclude with the Trofeo Monreale on Sunday, October 18, followed by an awards ceremony in Palermo.
