Target Group launches AI Champion programme

Newport-based software provider and outsourcer Target Group has launched an AI Champion programme to accelerate the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence across its business. The initiative involves employees from various departments acting as champions to identify practical applications, test new tools and workflows, and share best practices within their teams.

The programme aims to improve efficiency, save time, and simplify daily tasks while ensuring staff feel supported and confident in using the technology. This move follows previous successful proofs of concept at Target and its parent company, Tech Mahindra, including the use of virtual assistants for HR enquiries and machine learning to summarize customer interactions in contact centers.

Melanie Spencer, growth director at Target Group, emphasized that the company’s AI philosophy focuses on enhancing the human touch and maintaining high standards within highly regulated sectors like financial services. The initiative seeks to combine technological innovation with strong governance and operational expertise to meet regulatory expectations.
