Targovishte Mayor leads NSORB healthcare and social policy meeting

Dr. Darin Dimitrov, the Mayor of Targovishte, chaired a joint session of the Standing Committee on Healthcare and the Standing Committee on Demographic and Social Policies of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NSORB) in Sofia.

The meeting focused on the future of social and health services for 2027 and 2028. Key discussion points included the funding of municipal health and social activities, maintenance standards, and staffing requirements. Participants also addressed the transformation of social services and the implementation of new financial standards set for 2028.

Additional topics included proposals for improving healthcare funding standards, regulatory changes, and the development of a unified Social Support Code to create a more accessible system. The committees also examined issues affecting at-risk children, specifically regarding mental health, addictions, and behavioral problems, as well as the coordination of integrated health and social services.
