Targovishte transforms into a major Bulgarian industrial hub

The city of Targovishte, Bulgaria, has transformed into a major industrial hub in Northeastern Bulgaria, driven primarily by its glass manufacturing sector. At the center of this growth is Trakiya Glas Bulgaria, part of the Turkish holding Şişecam. Since its establishment in 2003, the company has expanded through significant investments, including a 42 million euro investment in 2019 to open a large-scale float glass furnace and a 20 million euro investment for a second coated glass line scheduled for 2026.

The production serves diverse sectors across Europe, including the automotive, construction, energy, and appliance industries. This industrial presence has fostered a local ecosystem of logistics, transport, and processing companies, such as Glasko, supporting numerous small and medium-sized enterprises.

To further its development, the city is advancing the Targovishte Industrial Park. Spanning over 307 decares with approximately 18 million euros in investment, the project aims to attract high-tech companies and transition the region from a manufacturing base into a modern industrial center.
