Tarik Biberovic discusses transition to Dallas Mavericks

Tarik Biberovic, a 6’7″ wing and former Fenerbahce player, spoke to the media for the first time since signing with the Dallas Mavericks. Biberovic expressed that joining the NBA has been a long-held dream and noted that the organization provided the opportunity he sought.

Biberovic highlighted his existing relationship with General Manager Mike Schmitz, noting Schmitz’s expertise in scouting European players as a factor in his comfort with the transition. He also mentioned consulting with Masai Ujiri during the process of the Mavericks acquiring his rights.

Known for his elite shooting abilities, Biberovic recorded a .524/.419/.952 shooting line in 41 EuroLeague contests during the 2025/26 season. He stated that former NBA players currently playing in the EuroLeague encouraged his move, suggesting the NBA style of play is well-suited for players who can shoot, defend, and space the floor.
