Tarik Biberovic highly valued by Dallas Mavericks despite roster constraints

Reporter Marc Stein has clarified the status of Tarik Biberovic regarding his future with the Dallas Mavericks. Despite initial speculation that Biberovic might be waived to create roster space, Stein emphasized that the team has no intention of releasing the Turkish forward.

The roster dilemma stems from the Mavericks' desire to retain veteran Dwight Powell. Because the team already has 15 guaranteed contracts, creating a spot for Powell is difficult. While Biberovic holds one of the team's smallest contracts—making him a candidate for movement in theory—Stein noted that Biberovic is highly valued by the organization. In fact, Biberovic is at the top of a list of players with small contracts whom the Mavericks wish to keep, which complicates the process of finding space for Powell.
