Tarik Skubal poised for historic free agency following Dodgers season

Pitcher Tarik Skubal is expected to enter free agency following a season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he was acquired from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for a package of prospects. While Skubal helped the Dodgers reach the National League Championship Series, their season ended in a sweep by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Skubal is anticipated to command a historic contract, potentially exceeding $400 million, managed by agent Scott Boras. Reports indicate that the New York Mets are prepared to match any offer Skubal receives during the upcoming bidding war. Other major contenders for his services are expected to include the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and Toronto Blue Jays.
