Tarik Skubal's trade impact continues with Dodgers and Tigers

Two months after the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired pitcher Tarik Skubal, the impact of the trade continues to resonate within Major League Baseball. The deal, which saw Skubal move from the Detroit Tigers to the Dodgers, included outfielder Zyhir Hope and right-handed pitchers Brady Smith and River Ryan in exchange for the Cy Young winner.

River Ryan, one of the pitchers acquired by Detroit, recently commented on his transition to the Tigers, noting that the organization has been highly involved in his daily development and care. Ryan suggested that the Detroit organization has been more “hands-on” with his process compared to his time in Los Angeles.

Within the Dodgers clubhouse, Skubal has quickly integrated with his new teammates. Pitcher Tyler Glasnow highlighted the growing friendship between Skubal and Blake Snell, describing their connection as a “melding of minds” between two competitive personalities. As the Dodgers prepare for the National League Division Series (NLDS), Skubal is expected to start in Game 2.
