Tariq Lamptey injury concerns for Queens Park Rangers

Queens Park Rangers head coach Julien Stephan has expressed concern regarding the injury status of Ghana international defender Tariq Lamptey. Lamptey was forced off in the 35th minute during a goalless Championship draw against Charlton Athletic at The Valley.

While Lamptey managed to walk off the pitch under his own power, Stephan noted that the initial assessment “doesn’t present very well.” The defender is expected to undergo scans to determine the full extent of the setback. The injury casts doubt on Lamptey’s availability for QPR’s upcoming match against West Bromwich Albion and potentially impacts his selection for Ghana’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia.

QPR also lost defender Jimmy Dunne to injury during the same fixture, complicating the squad's depth ahead of the weekend.
