Tariq Owens signs with Halley Campania Avellino Basket

American forward Tariq Owens has joined the Italian club Halley Campania Avellino Basket for the 2026/2027 season, marking his first appearance in Italy's Serie A2. Owens, 28, stands 208 cm tall and weighs 90 kg. He previously played for JDA Dijon in France, averaging 10.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game, and finished the season with Israel's Elitzur Netanya.

Owens brings a varied career that includes stints with Napoli, Varese and Cremona in Italy’s top division, as well as college basketball at the University of Tennessee, St. John’s University and Texas Tech. He also spent brief periods in the NBA G‑League and with the Phoenix Suns. The Avellino club highlighted his athleticism and defensive presence, quoting Owens: “Sono davvero contento, carico ed entusiasta di poter iniziare una nuova stagione agonistica ad Avellino.”
