Tarique Rahman inaugurates Navy and Air Force Selection Board-2026

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has officially inaugurated the ‘Navy and Air Force Selection Board-2026’ at the Air Force Headquarters. During the ceremony, he directed members of the selection board to prioritize merit, professional competence, leadership, integrity, and loyalty when considering officer promotions.

He emphasized that the promotion process must remain free from political ideology and personal preferences. The board will evaluate eligible officers from the Bangladesh Navy, including ranks of captain, commander, and lieutenant commander, as well as officers from the Bangladesh Air Force, including group captain, wing commander, and squadron leader.

The Prime Minister also praised the roles of the Navy and Air Force in safeguarding national sovereignty, maintaining internal stability, and assisting civil administration during natural disasters. Following the inauguration, he inspected various strategic facilities, including the Air Defense System Integration (ADSI) and the Air Command Operation Center (ACOC), and observed domestically developed drone technologies.
