Tarn-et-Garonne road fatalities reach 15 this year

Road fatalities in the Tarn-et-Garonne department have reached 15 since the beginning of the year. The latest death involves a 21-year-old man following a serious accident in Verdun-sur-Garonne.

As of August 13, the department had recorded 161 accidents involving bodily harm, resulting in 14 deaths and 203 injuries, 73 of which required hospitalization. In response to the rising numbers, Prefect Sébastien Cauwel has urged motorists to exercise vigilance, emphasizing the importance of adequate rest, avoiding alcohol and drugs, maintaining vehicle condition, respecting speed limits, and avoiding phone use while driving.
