Tarnobrzeg Cultural Center hosts ‘Kaddish’ theatrical performance

The theatrical production ‘Kaddish’ by Andrzej Wilgosz is returning to the Tarnobrzeg Cultural Center on October 2. Originally premiered on April 15, 1989, the play serves as a poignant tribute to the Jewish residents of Tarnobrzeg.

The performance is held in connection with the 87th anniversary of the deportation of Tarnobrzeg’s Jewish population by German forces. The production draws inspiration from the poetry of Aleksander Rozenfeld and incorporates texts from various authors, including Jakow Bosser, Antoni Słonimski, and Stanisław Jerzy Lec, alongside elements of Jewish tradition and ritual.

This updated, intimate version of the play will feature Andrzej Wilgosz and Justyna Uchańska. The performance aims to preserve the memory of a community whose world was irrevocably destroyed.
