Tarnow Diocesan Curia responds to Bishop Andrzej Jeż conviction

The Tarnow Diocesan Curia has issued a statement regarding the non-final verdict issued by the District Court in Tarnow, which found Bishop Andrzej Jeż guilty of two alleged crimes.

The Curia stated that it does not agree with the court's decision. Defense attorneys intend to request a written justification of the verdict and will file an appeal following a detailed analysis of the ruling.

The Curia noted that formal reports regarding both cases had been made to law enforcement agencies by the Curia and that other individuals and state institutions were also aware of the matters. The Curia expressed deep regret for the harm and suffering of all victims of sexual crimes.
