Tarnowskie Góry to host Gwarki festival and 500th anniversary celebrations
Tarnowskie Góry will host the Gwarki festival from September 10 to 13, coinciding with the city's 500th anniversary celebrations. The event features a variety of cultural activities, including concerts, family events, exhibitions, and craft fairs.
A central highlight is the expanded Gwarkowski Procession, scheduled for Sunday, September 13, at 11:00 AM. This procession, which is part of the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, will trace the city's history through different eras up to 1957. The route will begin at the main gate of the 5th Tarnogórski Chemical Regiment on Opolskiej Street and proceed through several streets to Plac Wolności.
The festival's musical program includes performances by various artists such as the Silesian Philharmonic, the Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble, Bajm, and Dżem, among others. Family picnic stages will also be active at the Tarnowskie Góry Cultural Center during the weekend.
