Taroko Mountain Market to support Hualien tourism recovery

The 5th "Taroko • Mountain Market" is scheduled to take place from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on August 15–16 at the Hualien City Old Railway Pedestrian Area. Organized by the Bsngan Tribal Council with assistance from the Xiulin Township Office and Asia Cement, the event aims to support Hualien's tourism recovery following the April 3 earthquake and recent storm damage.

The market will feature six communities from the Bsngan Tribal Council of Fushi Village—Ayu, Rowcing, Dgarung, Skadang, Huhus, and Kulu—performing traditional Truku music and dance. In addition to performances, the event will showcase tribal cuisine, specialty crafts, and youth cultural-creative content.

Relocating the market to the Hualien City Old Railway Pedestrian Area is intended to increase accessibility and stimulate local industry through consumer spending, helping tribal enterprises and shops recover from recent natural disasters.
