TAROM unveils first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from US factory

TAROM has released images of the first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft destined for its fleet, captured during the manufacturing and painting stages at the Boeing factory in Renton, Washington. Named ‘Mircea Lucescu’, this aircraft is the first of four Boeing 737 MAX models scheduled to join the Romanian airline's fleet.

The new aircraft features technical improvements over the models it replaces, including a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, and a 50% reduction in noise footprint. Passengers will also benefit from windows that are approximately 20% larger.

The second Boeing 737 MAX is expected to enter the fleet in September 2026, with the remaining two deliveries scheduled for the spring of 2027.
