Taron Egerton reveals estrangement from his father

Actor Taron Egerton has revealed that he is estranged from his father and has not spoken to him for several years. During an appearance on the ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast with Dax Shepard, Egerton described the decision to distance himself from the relationship as having ‘pushed the ejector seat.’

Egerton noted that while he and his father maintained a functional relationship during his childhood, the dynamic became increasingly difficult as he grew older. Despite the estrangement, he stated, ‘I’ll always love him, I just don’t think we work very well in terms of our relationship.’

The actor also reflected on his upbringing in Wales with his mother, whom he praised for being a great parent. He credited his ‘Kingsman’ co-star Colin Firth as a significant father figure during a difficult period in his life when he was struggling with personal issues and aggressive partying.
