Tarragona clinches five bronze medals at Spanish Athletics Championships in Málaga

The 106th Campeonato de España Absoluto de Atletismo in Málaga saw athletes from the Tarragona region secure five bronze medals across a range of events, contributing to Catalonia’s top spot in the federation rankings with 281 points, ahead of Madrid and the Valencian Community. Highlights include Hailu Estrampes finishing third in the men’s javelin, Abdessamad Oukhelfen taking bronze in the 5,000 m, and the women’s 4 × 100 m relay quartet—Andreea Florina Sabou, Laia Monforte, Noa Miguel and Inés Gómez—earning bronze while setting a new Catalan record of 45.51 seconds.

The Garbi Throws Academy of Gandia also performed strongly. Belén Toimil won her seventh consecutive national title in the women’s shot put with a best throw of 16.67 m, followed by silver‑medalist Fiona Mar Villarroel and bronze‑medalist Tilena Martínez. Additional Gandia athletes placed in the hammer‑throw and discus events, underscoring the academy’s depth.
