Tarragona theatre festivals launch with immersive and new dramaturgies

The 2026 editions of major theatre festivals in the Tarragona region have commenced. FiraTàrrega will open with ‘Incontinuo’ by the immersive theatre company Kamchàtka. The large-scale production, which previously premiered at the Aurillac Festival in France, explores themes of exile, memory, and forced displacement through a non-verbal, immersive experience involving music, audiovisual projections, and live performance.

Simultaneously, the 13th edition of FITT Noves Dramatúrgies has launched in Tarragona. The festival’s opening featured the itinerant show ‘Dones de llum’ by the Gisela de Foc company and the variety performance ‘Bomba va’ by Glòria Ribera. Under the theme ‘El talent torna a casa’, the festival will showcase 16 different stage proposals through September 5th, focusing on emerging dramaturgies and artists with ties to the region.
