Tarragona to host Festa Estellés honoring poet Vicent Andrés Estellés

Tarragona will host a new edition of the Festa Estellés on October 17 to honor the life and work of Vicent Andrés Estellés, one of the most significant Valencian poets of the 20th century.

The event features a diverse program including a literary route through the city streets led by Jesús Figueras, a theatrical performance at the Roman Amphitheatre titled ‘D’amor de cap a peus vinc amarat’ based on Estellés’s love poetry, and the traditional Sopar Estellés dinner.

Born in Burjassot in 1924, Estellés was a multifaceted figure who worked as a baker, goldsmith, and journalist. His literary career was shaped by the Spanish Civil War and his subsequent work as an editor-in-chief for Las Provincias. He was a prominent figure in contemporary Catalan literature and a recipient of the Premi d’Honor de les Lletres Catalanes.
