Tarragonès invests in school kitchen facilities
The Consell Comarcal del Tarragonès has invested 25,000 euros to launch a dedicated kitchen at Escola Riu Clar. Previously, the school relied on food delivered from a central kitchen despite having an unused facility on-site. The new installation allows for on-site meal preparation, which is intended to provide more diverse menus, utilize local ingredients, and reduce food waste.
This project is part of a broader summer investment of approximately 50,000 euros aimed at improving five schools in the region. Other upgrades include the installation of climate control systems in the dining halls of Guillem de Claramunt and Josep Veciana schools, as well as new recreational equipment at Escola Sant Salvador and Escola Cal·lípolis.
