Tartar sauce taste test: Budget brand wins despite complex ingredients

A comparative test of 11 supermarket tartar sauces conducted by the Arecenze editorial team revealed that a cheaper brand emerged as the winner in terms of taste. The evaluation was based on a combination of blind tastings, ingredient analysis, and price comparisons.

Interestingly, the product with the highest taste rating did not have the simplest ingredient list; it contained aromas, emulsifiers, and the antioxidant EDTA. Despite these additives, testers found the flavor to be full and harmonious. The winning product also contained only 24 percent oil, the lowest amount among all tested varieties, which contributed to its specific consistency.
